Accounts Receivable Representative - 6 Month Contract with Opportunity for Permanent

In this role you will provide financial and accounting support and service to the Finance Team. You will obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records for Accounts Receivable, and prepare financial documents related to Accounts Receivable for entry into the computer software. You will also perform bank reconciliations and assist in the preparation of budgets and reports.

About the Opportunity

  • Reconcile Sub A/R to G/L control accounts monthly
  • Post cash receipts on client accounts for all branches on daily bases
  • Print and co-ordinate monthly client account statements for all branches. Follow-up on return statements and ensure proper delivery
  • Follow-up on NSF cheques as required
  • Follow up and reconcile outstanding commissions and premiums
  • Process accounting queries for all departments and assist the CSRs with processing
  • Follow up and respond to inquires on accounting differences
  • Assist in year-end reports and reconciliation
  • Assist with internal and external audit/internal requests when necessary
  • Print monthly client/broker statements
  • Place accounts to collection agencies
  • Premium bank reconciliation (monthly)
  • Print agency account current reports for all locations
  • Download (daily), bank statements, cashed cheques, wires, credit card details, EFT, etc.
  • Process bad debt write off requests
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • College diploma in business/finance preferred
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Broad general knowledge of all classes of insurance would be beneficial
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Great attention to detail and ability to check for accuracy in documents and contracts
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple files simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Pay Range
$17-$21/hour
