Accounts Payable Supervisor - 12 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

  • Supervise all activities of the Accounts Payable (AP) team focusing on vendor invoice entry, maximizing of vendor discounts, as well as timely processing and payment of vendor invoices based on contractual obligations
  • Ensure payment of all invoices through EFT, cheque or wire and oversee the administration of customer refund payments
  • Liaise with managers and supervisors on AP processes and policies to ensure prompt invoice approvals and accurate costs allocations Audits
  • Approve all financial cost transactions in the AP department, analyzes costs between the AP, General Ledger, inventory and purchasing ledgers
  • Lead, co-ordinate and review AP month-end costs accruals with management
  • Provide leadership, coaching, development, performance management, technical guidance and advice to the AP team
  • Research, recommend and implement new or enhanced policies, procedures and processes to improve operational effectiveness 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • CPA/CMA/CGA/CA designation enrolment or designation
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience, including supervision of team members
  • Experience in a senior accounting and financial capacity
  • Experience in developing and recommending corporate procedures, managing budgets and providing input to strategic/business plans
  • Demonstrated experience in a unionized utility environment an asset

Pay Range
$30-$35/hour
