Accounts Payable Specialist - 12 Month Contract
About the Opportunity
- Processes accounts payable in an accurate and timely manner including reviewing invoices, coding, posting into GL system and issuing cheques
- Maintains updated knowledge of internal expenditure policies and procedures and ensures proper documentation is prepared and filed
- Responds to inquiries from suppliers, customers, staff and volunteers and provides basic training as appropriate
- Assists in the completion of bank reconciliations and complete bank deposits
- Act as the Treasurer of the organization’s staff committee
- Develops and maintains monthly reports such as public account classification and kilometers driven
- Prepares monthly HST remittances
- Supports the Director of Administration in the tracking and monthly payments of occupancy costs
- Maintains accurate records in order to prepare quarterly report of travel costs for posting on external website
- Assists in the preparation of year-end schedules and the annual audit
Prepares ad hoc reports as required
About You
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of data
- Speed and precision when entering large amounts of data to database systems
- Communication skills in order to respond to basic inquiries regarding accounts payable
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong customer service skills to work and follow-up with staff to process expenses
- High degree of comfort with technology and various platforms
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field
- Two years related experience including experience using related computer applications
Pay Range
$22-$25/hour
