ARE YOU AN ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST LOOKING TO TAKE YOUR CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL? Our client is looking for an experienced professional to join their team on a 3 month contract.

Accounts Payable Specialist - 3 month contract

Reporting to the Controller, the A/P Specialist is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as invoices, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management. This position handles a high volume of transactions and requires the ability to set priorities, minimize errors and communicate effective inside and outside the organization.

About the Opportunity

  • Ensure invoice are coded and properly authorized
  • Import invoices and post journal entries on QuickBooks Account system
  • Process accounting payable invoices and generate cheque run
  • Administer rush cheque requests, code, enter and generate within the same day when required
  • Investigate and resolve any questionable accounts payable invoices and intercompany billing payments and discrepancies
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Assist in special projects as required

About You

  • 3-5 years direct experience in A/P capacity
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel (70% or higher)
  • Knowledge of accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
  • Ability to perform computations with speed and accuracy in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Above average interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, experience with QuickBooks would be an asset

Pay Range
$15-$18/hour
