Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable - 12 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

Accounts Payable

  • Process and coding of invoices for accounts payable
  • Provide expense report support
  • Process payments for vendors on weekly basis (cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers)
  • Prepare monthly accrual schedule
  • Process intercompany invoices, reconcile intercompany balances and prepare cash calls 

Financial Administration

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Review and confirm sales and options trade with banks while communicating with stakeholders to ensure the trades go through and money is received on time
  • Prepare and update prepaid schedule
  • Assist with period end close and financial reporting process, as required
  • Assist in various other reporting functions, including the following
    • Preparation of journal entries
    • The analysis and reconciliation of the general ledger accounts
    • Reconciliation and review of company-wide cash reconciliation process
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as required

About You

  • University or college Accounting education
  • 3-5 years of AP experience within a small-medium size organization where you worked in a standalone AP position
  • At least 1 years’ worth of experience with SAP
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Pay Range
$18-$24/hour
